Include It All in Your Description
Provide accurate, and
detailed information when describing your item. By explaining every detail
about your item, you will increase the number of bids you receive, and
decrease the number of e-mails you get from interested bidders, asking
questions about the item. You should ALWAYS include information on who
pays shipping and how much you estimate shipping costs to be.
Using HTML in Your Description
Add color and flash
to your listings by using HTML tags within your Description. Follow this
link to learn more about HTML and how to use it to make your listings
shine!! ePier.com HTML help.
Specify Terms of Sale
Let everyone know in advance how you wish to be paid for your item, and
what additional costs winning bidder(s) may incur after your Auction closes
(shipping, tax, etc). Be certain to specify what forms of payment you
are willing to accept i.e. credit card, money order, personal checks,
etc. If you are uncertain about a buyer, you may want to use a third party
escrow service.
Include a Photo
Adding a photo of your item gives potential bidders a first hand look
at what you are offering. Listings that include photos tend to receive
far more bids. For help with including a photo within your listing, visit
the ePier.com photo help section.
Avoid Ending Your Auction
Early
Many bidders wait until an Auction is about to end before placing a bid,
to better their chances of winning the auction. Your auction may lose
potential bids if you end it early.
Avoid Running Private
Auctions
While Private Auctions are generally used to protect a bidder's identity,
in most cases toavoid embarrassment, they may deter potential bidders
from bidding on your item. You should only use the Private Auction option
in extreme situations.
Check Your Bidders' Feedback
Rating
Click on the number that appears next to a bidder's e-mail address or
User ID in parentheses, to see what other members of our Community have
to say about dealing with this bidder. You should review these comments
before you complete your transaction with that person.
Contact Your Winning Bidder(s)
You should make contact with your winning bidder(s) within 3 business
days after your Auction ends. Don't wait for your bidders to contact you
first. ePier.com will send an e-mail to your winning bidder(s) at the
close of your Auction. Remember, not everyone checks their e-mail daily.
Allow at least 48 hours for a winning bidder(s) to respond. If you do
not get an e-mail response from your winning bidder(s) within a reasonable
time frame, try contacting them over the telephone. You may request additional
contact information about another registered user by going to the contact
registed user from SiteMap.
Be Patient and Professional
It is always helpful to be patient when communicating with your bidder(s).
Be as clear and specific as possible in your correspondence. Use complete
sentences in your e-mails. Try to keep your e-mails well written and professional
in nature. The way your customers perceive you is important to your success.
Courtesy and kindness go a long way. Always treat your bidders as you
would like to be treated yourself.
